Aftermarket Intercoolers in the 6.0

Haven't seen too much about intercoolers for 6.0's on here...
Is it worth the 1000 bucks to get an aftermarket intercooler?
Does it keep temps down that much more than stock to be worth it?

Yes I do tow a lot, mainly in the mountains in Idaho. Head gasket went a couple months ago is mainly why I was looking at them, hoping to keep it from happening again.

Totally off the subject, but I saw that you spend alot of time in the mountains in idaho. i'm form Boston, but spent the summer of 06 in McCall doing some High Voltage work on Tamarack. beautiful country!

ok..... on the subject. how much does i cost to put in an intercooler? or is it an easy enough project to tackle on my own......

I'm an electrician, not a mechanic buy any means.........

With my Spearco I cruise unloaded on the HWY at 65MPH running 600* EGTs. Biggest factor is the amount of boost while driving.

it does seem to show a small amount of psi loss but also remember that there is a significant increase in surface area inside the cooler and pipes so even though u see a very small if any drop of psi it still getting as much or more air then u where b4 but it's at a lower temp and therefore more dense I am still able to hit 37psi with the HP tunes it is well worth the $$$$ just my 2cents
