Another head stud question.........

ok, I have an 04 6.0 and currently have a banks cold air intake, a banks 4 inch exhaust, and juice with attitude 5 stage chip. Now my mechanic that i shouldn't push this past stage three for fear of lifting the heads. I wanted to put a methanol water injection system as well, but he kind of stared me away form it for now.

My question is..... is head studs worth it, or is it a wast of money for this truck? My mechanic thinks that the head studs isnt a worth while upgrade for the price for the 6.0 he is under the opinion that i would only gain about 5000 psi, and i would still see some lifting, due to the fact that there is only 10 head studs in the 6.0 makes sense to me. I know you can get alot more out of the old 7.3's with out having to worry about lift. the have 17 head bolts / studs where the 6.0 only has 10....

Also how far can I push this before i have to worry about lifting?

6.0L have a tendency of lifting the heads bone stock!! haha!! I am surpprised that you dont have them done already!! It is a very expensive and time consuming procedure and I think you would be better off not doing it! My personal opinion (I am a ford master diesel technician!)

I would do it, and the 7.3s have 18 per side. and i think the 6.0s have 10 per side. and they arent studs they are bolts, which is why replacing them with studs helps hold it tight

before I get around to replacing the bolts with studs, how far can I push it without worrying? trucks in the body shop this week, my girl backed it into a pole. After it gets out I need to do the ball Joints. I'm thinking about doing it myself, but i did it on a friends truck about three years ago, and swore i would never do them again..... it would be nice to save myself on 700 labor....

What's a repectable price to pay for an egr delete and head studs? I know the studs are alot of work.

alota money and time!!!! Use common sense, dont push it WOT for more than 15 seconds at a time.
