a warning from a guy who works on sick-0's every day.
if you are going to put a chip or program into a 6.0, be prepaired for the consiquence......navistar did not design the motor to handle ANY more turbo boost than the stock pressure, and i have seen almost a dozen head gasket failures in chipped trucks, as opposed to the one i have seen in a non chipped truck. the turbo, if allowed to build enough boost, is capable of actually putting enough air into the cylender to actually stretch the head bolts enough to cause a seperation between the head and block. and since they are already "streatched" anyway (torque to yield bolts are streatched based on degrees of turn and not torque) they are already prone to this....just a warning from a guy who has seen it. there is, or so i am told since i have not installed one yet, an aftermarket stud kit to replace the head bolts, similar to the big rig style studs, available to prevent this, but this would mean the heads would have to come off to install it......marc

i have not just heard it, im a tech at a dealersip, and ive seen it first hand.....if your gonna chip em, be prepared to do the aftermarket stud kit. i have not done one yet, but according to other guys who i have talked to, they work, and you can push almost 45 psi with that turbo, although i would have to see it to believe it

the studs are an aftermarket kit, ford will not warranty and im not sure they even know of their existance. i talked to a couple guys on the factory message board who had done it, and they were supposed to get back to me on the companies offering them, but they didnt, so i dont know where to get them. as far as putting them in, it is possible in chassis, but you will kill your body and it absolutely SUCKS........if you dont have access to a hoist, you will need to pull the motor to do it comforatably.....if you have access to a two post hoist, pulling the cabs is the only way to go. i would CAUTIOUSLY help someone lift a cab IF they were willing to chat with me before hand so i knew they were not getting in over their head (professional techs not included in this last statement, i know you guys are capable..or should be
).
