ARP headstuds or EGR delete??
I have a 2006 6.0 SCT with extreme tunes, gauges, mbrp straight turbo back, and lil bigger tires.
ARP headstuds -how much did yall pay in all with installation? -did yall have it installed at a dealership or shop and which is better? EGR delete kit -how much does it cost in all. I have heard great things about both and want to do them but not sure if I can afford them. If I could only get one, which would be the best? Thanks, new to diesels, so help please. |

The studs can be had for about 375 shipped off ebay. For the EGR delete, you need a Sneaky pipe with block plate for your 06. The older trucks just need a little piece of metal you can make yourself. The pipe is $180 shipped from Elite. Then you just have the EGR valve welded shut.
Mine were installed at the dealer while they were already in there for something else, so it was just the $100 deductible. That's the best way to do it if you know somebody at a dealer. The labor at a shop will run somewhere around 2 grand or more. If you do studs, it's dumb not to go ahead and do the EGR delete since it's easy to do when the cab is off and the engine is already apart. If you want to just do the EGR delete, you can do that in just a few hours, so I'd guess most shops would do it for a few hundred bucks if you bring in the parts. You really need to do both, though, to get rid of most of the worries of having a 6.0. |

i did both. dealer did my studs under warranty..so that was 107 bucks plus studs
egr i did mine myself, adam from FCDP helped me out. but it was easy once you know how it works and what not. if you dont have the tools or the time i would just buy his kit. First Coast Diesel Performance Last edited by Evil Eye; 11-10-2008 at 04:26 AM. Reason: Removed non-sponsor URL |
