I think if you eventually plan on injectors and a turbo upgrade the S&B or other CAI is a good upgrade. Also I'm an airdog fan myself. If you plan on larger injectors you'll need their raptor pump too, but I've seen a lot of FASS pumps go bad on 6.0's.

Go for it, buy the S&B cold air. I bought mine from Innovative Diesel and I really like the intake. Easy install and pulls 100% more air than the stock intake. Well worth the money. I feel like it gave my truck a bit more power.

Does this kit make the turno whistle any louder?
I really like a loud whistle and I have a 4" stright pipe which helped with the whistle but I want more!!!

Pretty much all of the aftermarket CAI's will make the whistle a bit more noticeable.
