New truck few questions
Hey all, first post. Have been creepin for a while and got a lot of useful info thanks. I got a f350 harley davidson blue in colour, i'll get a few pictures up soon. Has a 2 inch lift, dual 4 inch exhaust, intake, and bullydog I think "Extreme" but I can adjust it from the Cabin via a little computer in increments of 25%. First question is sometimes when I give it boost and let off the gas it gives a blow off valve type sound "sha sha sha" Just wondering what exactly this is doens't sound bad. Kind of a cool sound but just wanna make sure all is well. 2nd question is i would like to switch to the SCT which I would like to do because I hear its better on the tranny and I'm only gettin about 12mpg right now. Is ithard to switch? Can I keep the little outlook screne with the sct? cuz I like the ability to switch between increments of power. Thanks.

you can keep the outlook monitor as your guages with the sct but your not going to be able to switch between tunes driving down the road. it takes about 2 mins to switch to a new tune and the truck has to be turned off. the sct is the best and safest tuner you can have for the truck. your trans will love you for it |

REALLY? thats rad so I don't have to splurge and get the LIVEWIRE I can just use the outlook as my gauges for temp and what not. And is there any other instructions on installing the sct or do I just do the same as if it was stock just plug n play? Thanks

Is this back pressure bad on the turbo? I know it is on some turbo's. Is this one made for this?

that sha sha sha is a compressor surge. u can hear it really good through my intake. you should be alrite. just dont do it alot.

The surge isn't exactly good for it, but it doesn't seem to be too damaging since there are a lot of people here with a lot of miles on their original turbo. I wouldn't worry about it.
It's a poor design IMHO, though. When my truck goes out of warranty, I'll probably put a blow off valve on it to eliminate the surge. I'm a little bit anal, and it bugs me. |
