4 inch or 5 inch exhaust and tires

I know this has been covered but can't find the answer to my questions.
I do not which size to go with due to have small kids and we take long trips in the truck. I want them to be comfortable with the noise. I have heard 5 inch is much louder than 4 inch. I will be running a muffler with whatever system I decide on.

Can anyone give me some advise?

I am also looking at tires I have stock 18 king ranch wheels. I do not want to kill my mileage but want a more aggressive tire. Any suggestions or pics would be greatly appreciated.

I like the sound of the 5" but I have also heard it will drone more frequently than a 4".

I have a 4" silverline and I am very pleased with it

My 4" diamond eye with muffler, no cat is only noticeable at WOT and standing outside to hear the whistle... I have a 3 year old... No worries...

I have a 5 inch TB no muffler no CAT and at 2K under throttle it does drone...
At WOT it sounds like a monster about to rip your balls off...
With a muffler it would be much quieter....

As for tires. You can fit a 295/70/18 on there without leveling. Tire will be 34.5x11.8. Toyo ATII is a popular tire right now... 50K warranty for an AT tire is awesome! I just grabbed a set earlier this week.

I agree with the Toyo ATII's best tire I ever had and the 285 is a little smaller and won't affect mileage as much as the 34.4" which may be at best a 2 mpg. difference.

MBRP makes arguably the best easy to bolt on turbo or cat back system - go the TURBO back route. You don't gain anything over a 4" but noise and your neighbors will appreciate you at start up, so you won't feel bad about an early AM wake up call...
. MBRP also offers a CAT Delete TEST Pipe so if you prefer louder you can easily go back......
