Egt gauge

Where do you guys tap in for your egt readings? i heard pre turbo is best, and i was wondering if i could do it in the driver side exhaust manifold where it goes up behind the motor?

check out dieselmanor.com for instructions, manifold is the best spot for it, who ever told post turbo is wrong!

if you read his post, he did say pre turbo, not post turbo...

Crawl under youre truck look up. You will see the exhaust manafold and a nice open area you can fit adrill in get the corasponding bit for the tap and drill the hole straight. Right in the manafold about 1.5" to 2" from up pipe flange.

just make sure that you have a sharp bit. I was drilling for a good 5 minutes, getting no where with a dull drill bit. I even ran the battery out on my drill trying. Went to a neighbors house asked to borrow his, drilled right in like it was going through butter. =)
