Straight 4" or 5" or Magnaflow?

I'd like to get the best bang for my buck. While the truck already has a magnaflow, I'd considered taking that off and going to a straight turbo back, with a cat delete and all. You know.

My question is, will this be an advantage over the magnaflow that's already on it? I know in gas vehicles sometimes the lack of back pressure can be a bad thing, and I've heard the same for the 7.3L, but I could be misinformed.

I don't really care how loud it is, I just want the maximum HP and MPG that I can get, so whichever will help will be great.

Just my opinion, keep the Magnaflow. I just put a muffler delete pipe on mine and I hate the hair dryer sound it makes. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great at Wot and you can definitely here the turbo more at idle.

Needles to say I'll be putting my Magnaflow back on.

Also, if you look thru a magnaflow muffler they are a straight thru design. Any restriction there may be is pretty negligible.

No problem. I also go against the norm. I'm only 22 but people my age tend to go straight pipe. I just prefer the sound of a good sounding exhaust to none at all. Lol

I have a turbo back magnaflow they are great. There is no performance gain from straight piping these trucks with aftermarket exhaust because of the straight through design. And I think u would have to have a mobster turbo to say you needed more then a 4 inch exhaust. I like the sound out of the 4 inch. Some ppl say switching to a 5 inch was the best decision they made

I hear you Kmay. I prefer a good sound over volume, but I'll sacrifice it for power and mpgs haha.

Jmeaby I agree.

I hated that magnaflow muffler, it was about as quiet as stock until you really got on it. I thought I would never like a straight pipe but now that it's on I wouldn't have it any other way

im running the oem exhaust with a hollowed and piped cat and no muffler with the 03 turbo and when i drive thru town it litterally sets off car alarms with all the brick and stone buildings lol.... I have had my days where i wish it didn't scream but everytime the girl sits in that center fold seat and tells me to go fast it reminds me how much i like the truck haha...
