Something New ... Negative Boost PSI

Ok, went out to hammer on the truck and finish the re-learn.

Noticed if i roll into in second the Boost builds 5 9 13 21 28 then - 8 -12 -6 +9 12 16 21 Etc.

I have never seen - Boost on this truck via the scangauge in it's life.

2005 reading boost from thru MAF sensor.

I can put a analog gauge on it for the time being because there is no way what the SGII is showing is what is going on, unless the sensor is crap.

MAhybe i should scrap this code and reload the SGII ?

Lastly, trans can't learn and get past the 1 -2 or 2-3 shift flare if WOT is used, feather it a bit and it will shift and hit 50 inside a block but that won't win any race with a Goat.

So sounds like I need a MAF sensor and new Tranny?

Denny

My Insight will bounce the readings to negative and back when I'm full throttle. I have never figured out why. The dash gage stays steady.

I believe it's the PID being selected by the OBDII monitor. We had this problem with DashBoss, in the PCM there are like 3 different boost PID's to use, if you selected the wrong PID, you got a negative boost reading. I just can't remember the reasoning for the PCM having 3 different sources of PID's.

Hmmm, I"m running Jess' race tune, i guess i could run the street or any of my others to see if it does it.

I'm pretty sure i've ran this tune before.

Also looks like i'll need a tranny too, but can limp around until I can save the money.

Dang this never ends.

Boost is read thru the MAP sensor, not the MAF. Check your MAP hose for clogging, and hose fitting in the intake. Check MAP sensor plug/wiring for damage.

It's all fine and checked.

I'll try a different tune and see if that makes any difference.

Weird that it just started this after the new injectors & turbo were installed.
