more 03 turbo questions

i was just wondering what makes the 03 turbos better than 04 and up turbos i thought there was problems with 03s thats why they changed them?

the only change in the turbos was for the noise
which we all want
at the time, the 10 vanes was 'too loud'

I just want the jet engine noise myself, others say they may spool up a little quicker (which currently my 05 turbo is awfully slow to spool) and some have even hinted of a slight performance gain
I myself though, just want that kicka$$ turbo whine

03 turbos are the best :] yea double drop our turbos are awfully slow spoolers also ive heard that ur boost goes pretty higher too.

u an '05 as well? yeah, i have on more than one occasions pulled out into traffic expecting to immediately get some power, to only slowly roll into traffic watching everyone head directly at my door. then finally spools up and I take off in a cloud of black smoke. But it can sure get scary at times.

i know what u mean mine is an 03 with no cat or muffler and it screams, only problem everyone wants to race me cause they think its fast but all i have is a edge milage max and a strait pipe. a quick question did that zoodad thing help?

I think your just spooled Eric. Talk to the 7.3L guy's about lag

To the other guy, It's the Vane count, That is what makes it indemand (The sound). Sounds kinda like a hair dryer, More of a sucking sound.And yes some have said there is a slight performance gain.

Eric, Do you remeber the grey SD single cab at the River in July, He was running full pipe and it sounded the a jet engine

I have been lazy so the zoodad is still on the way. I hear differing opinions on it. some say it is a waste of time others say they get mileage increase. Your best bet would be to get u an SCT and some tunes.

Just a heads up...all of our trucks have turbo lag, some worse then others. 03 improves it, but does not do away with it. Just don't want people to get their hopes up.

Now, personal experiance, I saw quicker spool up and 4#s more boost running the same tunes. It also allows more air at the higher RPMs.

i don't think mine spools that much quick than my dads or bro. (both 05s) i plan to go with a vgt ss in the future after a lot of other mods. i was just wondering how much if any at all better mine is.
