Spartan Tunes

Ok, so I hear that DJ's is not doing custom tunes right now. So doing some looking around I found Spartan Diesel. They have several custom or semi custom tunes for the 04 6.0l that I run. So what can yall tell me about them? Anyone using any of these tunes right now and what kinda results you getting out of them?? I know Innovative diesel tunes are very good also!!

The spartan tunes are ok. Just make sure you go in and set your rear axle ratio, and revs per mile so it shifts right

they aint bad for free but they DON'T compare to extreme street. i love my tune from eric. i thought spartans shifted to soon and the egt's got up there quick if you went with the hybrid race tune, smoked good though. i did like the agressive street economy. got me 19mpg.

I run the Hybrid Race tune in my 2006. I really like it. Make sure that you set all the parameters correctly as previously stated. The power is great, smoke is decent, throttle response is great. I haven't exceeded 600* EGT, and have swung the needle past 100mph several times. This tune does NOT run hot for me.

My pyro is mounted pre-turbo. Best case would have been to mount 2 probes, but it was hot as hell in the driveway that afternoon. Call me lazy.

Pre turbo is good. I was just curious because you said you only hit 600 degrees with the Hybrid race tune. You must not have been in it too long

spartan tunes are ok. my truck didnt like them too much. mainly the shifting....

Nope, my truck NEVER runs hot. Highest EGT I have ever ran after installing the probe was towing a 12,000lb trailer south I-65 through the Tennessee mountains at speeds exceeding 100mph. EGTs barely crested 1,100*.

I checked trailer weight on a semi-truck weight scale on the interstate*

Luckily, the truck never runs hot.
