Tranny Performance Options

Howdy, Im wondering what options I have for protecting my tranny. I have the Edge programmer and now that i have learned that they eat trannys im conserned. Im stuck with the Edge for a while, so i would like to invest in something to reprogram my transmission or maybe some sort of shift kit. I have the torqshift. Any advice?

You could keep the Edge for the gauges, and get a SCT with canned tunes for 400 I think. You can get custom tunes anytime. I think that your going to spend more money trying to keep the edge killing your tranny. Just my .02 cents

My vote: SCT X3 Programmer- IDP Custom Tuned

There are a lot for sale here in Colorado on craigslist. Just don't tell the potential buyer why your getting rid of it . When I was looking at tuners for my truck I remember looking at the Edge, and it was about 700 bucks. Is that what you paid for yours, if you don't mind me asking. You could probably talk to Eric or Ted at ID and see if you can get a package deal, on the SCT and gauges.

Don't forget, you can keep your Edge, just use it for its gauges. I think I paid like 850 for my SCTXacl2 and three gauges. The Xcal3 has more capabilities than mine though. You could look for a used one too.

I paid 500 for mine. Its the Juice with Attitude. I just got it about 2 weeks ago. I like the power but i cant use it because it makes my tranny slip. I just called the place i got it from to see about returning it. I hope i can just get my money back and get the SCT.

That would be cool if they did that for you, then you can really let those ponies loose in that 6.0 with your new SCT

Good luck
