compressor surge

does anybody having there turbo compressor surging. is it a problem?

Had issues w/ surge when experimenting w/ different compressor wheels/housings. You want to take care of this as YES, it can and likely will cause problems if it happens a lot.

a diff turbo will completely eliminate surge.... some people say the ww or a housing helps... im still skeptical of this though

There is a fine balance between tunes, wheels (compressor/turbine) and housings (compressor/turbine) that have to be correctly matched. If one of these factors is off you can get surge. I'd recommend talking w/ a reputable tuner/vendor who has experience dealing w/ the compressor maps of different set-ups. There are several proven combinations out there in aftermarket products.
