egr removal, egr block

I have a 2004 6.0l and i was wanting to remove the egr valve and clean it. Is there a write up on how it is done. I was also thinking about getting a egr block plate but i am not sure if it will throw a code if i do it.

well that's easy enough.... what about blocking it though?? any codes that will throw it?? and with an 04 you just need the plate right?

from what I understand the 03-04 6.0s will not throw a code, the 05 and up 6.0s will throw a CEL, and all you need to do is install the block plate on the 03-04.

It depends on your strategy, some trucks do throw codes, like mine.

puting in the egr block was all was planing to do for know until my warrenty runs out then do a egr delet
