Custom Vs. Canned Tuning
Sorry if this has already been asked and answered. I Searched and didn't find it.
Without actually having the truck to test with what exactly is different between a canned tune and a custom tune? From what I 've read here, one of the highly regarded tuners on here receive your strategy then email you a custom tune. What prevents this tune from being used by every one with the same year "strategy" pcm? I guess what I am asking is is the tune custom to the truck or custom because we had to pay for , Eric, DJ and/or others expertise in writing strategy flash code. ?? |

I think its the second one. But not for sure and there is like 3 different strategies per each year model so its hard to find someone with the same strategy.

It is written for your specific needs. They take into account your mods on your truck, such as tire size, engine modifications, and such. They can also take into account your driving style and what exactly you want your truck to do. Custom tuning is the only way to go and well worth what you pay for it. Do you already have a SCT and running the canned tunes?

Spartan lists the free tunes like that, By First Five of the Code.
Mine is VXBC9, I really do not mind paying for knowledge, that is how I feed my kids. I am just curious. |

Which one of those tunes have you run? I ran a 14.1 @ 99 mph on the Stock Plus file a couple of weeks ago at Rockingham. Those are his base files, but they are still very good files. That particular strategy is the same as mine, so I can vouch for most of those tunes.
Just look the numbers in my sig!

I can't decide which to go with
I was thinking about the aggressive economy first?

The Stock Plus is a really good tune. Even with my bigger injectors, my truck loves it. The Max Economy is a pretty good highway tune, not good for city driving. The Aggressive Street is a pretty stout tune as well. I already posted what I ran at the strip with the Stock Plus tune and I am a 2wd. Not too shabby for a Granny Truck. LOL
