xtreme street or xtreme race
What is the hp and tq gains between these two? I have a 2006 F350 SRW 6.0 with the SCT. Right now i just have the 3 canned tunes and a custom smoke/street from DJ's.
I want to get the xtreme street or the xtreme race, since the canned tune of performance is getting kinda boring. Will the xtreme street be a big difference? But my concern is, will either of these tunes be safe to use on my stock tranny? I don't have the money for that right now. |

yes they're both safe on a stock tranny. I run the X race as my daily driver, I love the way it shifts and locks the converter from 2nd gear on. It supposedly makes about 10-15 more HP on the dyno than the X street too. I think the X street is more comfortable for most people who are used to a "stock" feeling tune until you mat it. Either one you choose, you'll notice a considerable gain from the SCT canned tunes. Also Eric keeps the EGR closed on all his custom files which is a good thing.

IMO if you drive it responsibly, you shouldn't have any issues. Everything has a breaking point though, and your truck may be different than others. Don't hold high EGT's for long periods of time (1/4 mile or 20 seconds is what I use), and you should be OK. I wouldn't say that your not running the risk of popping a HG, but you could pop a HG on a stock tune as well. Take that for what its worth, sometimes you have to pay to play though

I have 64,000 miles on my 06. I have run the Xtreme street since It had about 7,000 miles on it. My only troubles with the truck are HPOP, EGR cooler, and wiping the smile off of my face. The first 2 there is no way to tell if it was directly caused by the tunes. But warranty has taken care of any trouble that has arose.
