Power Hungry Performance FICM installed
Just finished a few test runs with the modded FICM. Initial results show quicker turbo spooling is the biggest gain. I have a SCT tranny tune running with stock PCM tuning. I'll be driving this for some MPG numbers to see if there's any gains.
I did try my Xzilliraider on Stage 1 (60hp)and 2 (120HP) settings with good running results. I'm happy it's working well with the QUAD module since I switch back and forth between the SCT tuning as needed for towing. I will get the SCT on with the FICM as I get done with each configuration. This will be a bit of a long term test so don't expect me to post results everyday. Ask any questions, I'll give you what I have read or experienced myself. |

Did your turbo get any louder?

Turbo doesn't sound louder, I don't think there's any real sound increase at all with the motor. I have read others posting increase in the sound from the motor. The motor seems to accelerate smoother and throttle response while at HWY speeds seems to be the same as stock. Turbo response seems much better from a stop. I got at ask Bill but the power I felt really gets to 2500 nicely then flattens out to like 3000 then climbs again. I sent them a second FICM so $125 plus the ride for just under $150 total.

What's this mod do?

The FICM has certian parameters it will operate inside, this programming opens those up allowing PCM tuning more options for gains when using tuners.

Maybe I need to know what a FICM is, I'm assuming that the PCM is the engine computer?? Thanks

i tought i read somewhere that spartan was in the works of a dashawk like the 6.4 for the 6.0 that would control all the parameters including the ficm, it sounds real cool and imo just might be the next sct (if and when its released and tested for awhile )
