03 turbo vs 05 turbo

So I finally found a 03 turbo to do the swap . The swap was really pretty easy. Heres what Ive noticed. 1. It hits peak boost faster but still only peaks what my 05 did. 2. The whistle is like a dog call for chevys and dodges that want to race.

What are you guys boosting that have swaped.

is there a difference.did you take out the silencer ring,it helps and the turbo will be loud.

I heard only dodges have removable silencer rings maybe I heard wrong anybody taken it out?

I think the rings have to be machined out and i have yet to put mine on, will do it in a couple of weeks

THe difference is the 03 has 10 vanes in the turbo. The newer ones have 12

03 have 10 vanes exhaust side, 04s have 12, and 05+ have 15.

I noticed smoother, faster spooling, and 4 more pounds boost on same tunes. And of course the infamouse jet engine whistle!

My '06 whistles like a jet, guess I need to find a '03 with open exhaust and hear the difference.
Mine is loud as all get out. People comment on it all the time.
