You dont need to with the 6.0. The stocker is actually pretty good. The reason alot of people change it out. Is because its kind of a pain change the filter

yea ive always heard that the 6.0 air boxes wernt to shabby. LOL. I guess you could just try an aftermarket drop in filter if you didnt want to change the whole setup

I agree 100% here! Unless you are gonna start adding mods to go big HP there is no real need to go aftermarket intake.

You can't get a better filter than the stock one.

I whole heartedly agree, the stock filter is very good. I have 8 2004 6.0s and with as much as 100k miles on the air filters I have never even seen the filter minder sucked into the first yellow zone. The filters are a bit of a pain to change but If I only have to change the filter once ever 75k miles I am not going to complain. I have found that if you take off the tube that runs from the air filter to the turbo it makes changing the filter quite a bit easier to change.

Here latley when I pull mine I just un-hook it at the turbo then pull the whole thing out in one piece alot faster and not smashed fingers.

whats the best aftermarket drop in

AFE or S&B are excellent

I suggest going with S&B. Take a look at their full intake kit as well. They show a 37% gain in airflow all while maintaining 99.53% filter efficiency. Here is a link to both products.
