Exhaust question!!!

SO I just went and had my muffler and cat removed from my truck. I went back with the same diameter pipe. So now when I stand at the back of my truck with it idling it sounds like a leaf blower. It sounds like a bunch of air coming out. Then when I put the hammer down it sounds like a blower nozzle on an air hose. It's not the turbo whistle just massive air flow. Is this because of the smaller stock diameter exhaust pipe. I didnt put a tip on it yet. I cant really see how that would help with the air flow sound, or would it?

Also they did a crappy lookin job of welding it. It looks like chicken-scratch! See photo. I can see and feel a leak at that weld. Could that also be part of the noise problem?

Damn, i can weld better than that. The first weld i ever made was better than that. It might just be the turbo though, i know the 03 turbos were louder and had more of a whistle than a whoosh sound.

If I had a welder I could do a better job too, I'd fix it myself.

I have a 4" cat back silverline w/muffler and after I took the cat off it sounds like a jet. It doesnt squeal like an 03 but is still has a good jet sound to it.

It's the factory bend. They charged me $125 to cut off muffler and cat and to "weld" a straight piece of pipe in there.

That sounds like some of the jokers we have around here.
I would definately take it back and hope it was not their "best man on the job".
That price is what you would find here in the Metroplex.
