Need to know

Hey, I would like to know the best tuner for my 04 6.0!! I have already tried the Bully Dog and a friend told me that the Superchips worked better in the Fords so I now have a Flashpack. I have an Airade cold air and Magnaflow 4" exhaust with no kitty. I do not tow heavy loads and am really looking for a good tune for fuel economy and of course a lot of pep to get it rolling. I have read that some of you are saying you are getting 18 MPG with the SCT and can't help but wondering if this is true. Oh yeah I have 315's tucked up under my F/250. I understand that running bigger tires does'nt help with the fuel mileage, but I hunt ducks and deer and need the clearance and love the ride. I am new to the forum and enjoy reading what u-all do to your trucks but I just have a hard time believing 18 MPG.

I get 18+ on the freeway, keep it about 73-75.

OK, what all have you done to your truck and what size tires are you running. The best MPG I have gotten is 15.5 on the highway and around 12 in the city.

I have a custom tuned SCT and I get 16 mpg on a dually runnin 37's before the sct I was gettin 10. So I belive there are guys gettin 18

I take it your getting 16 MPG on highway right? What do you get in town? And please tell me more about the SCT (WHERE TO BUY AND HOW TO GET THE CUSTOM TUNES). I'm looking for a tune that will give me plenty of pep with fuel economy if there is such a tune out there. I am 47 years old and drive pretty conservitive but when I step on the accelerator I want it to be responsive and get on down the road.

Welcome jward to the Org. I don't have big tires but I do have a few modifications to my truck as you can see in my sig. You can speak with any of the vendors here on the site, such as Patrick at DPP or Raul at Stealth and they should be able to get you pricing on the SCT and a good set of gauges for your truck. As far as custom tuning goes, there are several different tuners as well that you have to choose from here. They are all good in their own right. It is all a matter of personal choice. I have run tunes from just about all of them out there, with the exception of a few. I am sure there will be others along to tell you who they prefer. You really can't go wrong with any of the vendors here for service. Feel free to ask anyone for help. That is what we are here for.

I run an Extreme street tune, have a 4" exhaust to 5" stack, and zoodad mod. I'm running 285 Revo tires with a leveling kit.

I bought my SCT and tunes from Innovative diesel, and could not be happier. I have gotten close to 20 if I keep it around 70 mph, the mpg drops pretty quick after 70.
