Question Lookin for advice on which chip and exhaust to buy

Hey out there!!!!
I'm brand new to the site but lovin it. I'm really considering puttin an exhaust and a chip on my 03 F-250. One place i called recommends the edge juice platinum(i think that's what it was called, sorry if thats not exact). Then I got a buddy that says I should get the new bullydog. And of course I hear you can't go wrong with Banks. So I'm putting the question to all of you!! Just so know, money is an issue and I would like the most bang for my buck, but I don't wanna cut corners or put in a cheap low power chip and regret it immediately, if I have to save for a few more months to do it right I will. Also I don't wanna trash my truck engine or transmission if possible lol. I know I sound pretty dumb to all the gear heads out there but I really don't know much about this stuff so go easy and explain it simple please

Thanks all
James

honestly I somewhere in the middle. I really don't wanna go overboard because I probably will only keep this truck for about 3 years. So enough to have fun with and also nothing to weak. I def. wanna feel the difference.
Hope this helps.

Well I'm runnin the Hypertech Power Programmer III and when I downloaded the program into my truck, it was like night and day. I have mine on the stage 3. I love mine and plus its the only programmer that has no restrictions on towing.

Hey James let me first welcome you to Powerstroke.org! Glad you're enjoying the site.
I run the Diablo Predator on my '05 and generally leave it in the 65 hp "economy" tune. It's friggin awesome. Actually just about aw.....15 minutes ago I had a Dodge dually for breakfast. It's fairly inexpensive too which was an added bonus. In the 65 tune I can burn tires all the way through first into second. In the 100+hp tune she's just stupid fast and I can't keep the tires from breaking through 3rd. SO - if you're looking for fun and speed that's what the Predator does for mine. As far as exhaust, I've got the MBRP turbo back and I've left the muffler but kept the cat. You'll get a lot of opinions on both chips/tuners and exhaust around here, so search around and you should see one that fits your needs.
Take care!

James,

I think the biggest bang for the buck would be Rod's Diablo Predator or the Superchips tuner. they both stay within a relatively safe range and lay down some serious power. The Superchips is little weaker but extends the shift points out to about 4100rpm so the broader power band just about evens it out in my opinion. They both control the tranny very well which makes a huge difference. I'm sure the Hypertech works very well also, I haven't used one or heard too much about them other than what Lilred said.

I'm running a 4" flowmaster turbo back, no cat. With superchips micro max tuner and love it. The flowmaster even sounds somewhat like a flowmaster, loud very loud. However like all other flowmaster systems ive ever installed, the fittment sucked. performance gains are noticable though.....

Any 4" stainless steel mandrel-bent exhaust system will do.

I also have the the SCT Xcalibrator 2 along with the Superchips. For everday driving the Superchips high performance works the best for me. It seems to be more responsive than the SCT street tune and it gets better fuel milage than both of the economy tunes. When I want to get serious I whip out the SCT and load the xtreme tune and pray that I don't break anything. So biggest bang for the buck is the SCT but you are gonna have to have exhaust, intake, EGT gauge and a triple loc torque converter would be a great idea if you want the tranny to last cause it's gonna take a beating with up to 430rwhp and hard shifting at 4150rpms. Of course they come custom tuned so you can crank it down a bit, but then your right where the Diablo is.
