Finally got a diesel, and at a heck of a price.

after 3 years of wanting one and putting up with a 2500 dodge hemi and 8 mpg. I just got a deal of a life time. $15000 for an 05 F-250 supercab black leather interior with 55000 miles. love the truck. I just have one complaint. I had thought from reading on this sight and asking a couple friends I would be getting around like 14 15 mpg. well im not Im getting like 11 pulling a 12' tandom with 2 mowers on it. what mods are the best to improve mpg. Owe ye blue book is $30,000 on it.

Congrats on the new truck, that's a heck of a price. I struggle to get 14-15 with my 05 Harley SD with the truck empty and no trailer. 4" straight through exhaust, free flowing intake, and an SCT x3 with tunes from a well know tuner like DJ or Innovative will really wake that truck up.

Seriously, there are some serious deals out there to be had. With the big three cutting production on trucks the prices will eventually go back up because of supply and demand

get intake (the intake on your 6.0 should be good until you make some big HP), exhaust and a tuner.

my uncle got an 06 cc lb drw and he gets 18mpg while hauling a load of trailers, and the truck is 100% stock

If the trailer is under about 5K pounds loaded, try towing with the Tow/Haul mode off. If I tow my ATV trailer(about 4K pounds loaded with ATV's) with the Tow/Haul mode on, I get around 10-12 MPG. If I turn it off, I get 14-16. The Tow/Haul mode is just too aggressive with the shifting for such light weights.
