SCT with free custom tunes

Okay, so I got a used Xcal 2, and loaded some of those archived tunes from Spartan. I tried the aggressive street economy out of the bag. I liked it, but didnt have the holy chit feeling that seems to be the concensus from most custom tuned SCT guys here. So, was my hypertech just better than I thought, or what? Can I get some feedback here, I dont want to pay for tunes, but I want something that trumps the hypertech in power.

I was going to before, but I have tried, Edge Juice, SCT with canned tunes, Super Chips, Hypertech Max Energy, and now have Xcal for custom tunes... I really dont want to try anymore, I think Ill try some different custom tunes and see how that goes.

I tried the spartan tunes and was extremely dissatisfied. Check out my thread titled Xtreme race tune shifting issues.

I tried the Hybred Race tune as well and it did not compare to Innovatives Extreme Race tune, which by the way is my daily driver. Shifting and power just not the same. With that said maybe if Matt was to custom tune his Hybred Race tune for me it would be better.
As far as your concerns with the SCT, I think you just have to find the right tune for your truck.

This is true that I have spent enough money trying different tuners, I guess its time to just buy some customs...

I am very lucky that my truck runs really well on Innovative's tunes. They were the first and only custom tunes I bought. You should try several depending on what you want to do with your truck. I have heard good things about Matt's custom tunes, and of course DJ's. There are 3 for you right there. It's less expensive than a tuner.
