I guess I am gonna be the odd lady out here but unless you are planning on adding high HP mods there is no reason to add an aftermarket intake. The stock intake for the 6.0L will flow plenty of air for what you need. I only recently changed from the stock to an aftermarket intake and that was because of my injectors. You will be fine with the stock intake. Spend the money elsewhere, that is my.

You one odd lady, Granny!!!

(joking with ya)

I do agree, the stock filter/inake flows PLENTY good! But this is how I've been lookin' at it......

Stock replacement filter - $60 (give or take a few $$$)

AFE Stage I - $250ish

I'm guessing I'll replace the filter about once a year, maybe a little less. If I replace the stocker with the Stage I at the first "filter change" and keep my truck for another 4 years (which I plan on doing), the AFE will pay for itself.

If I'm way off base on this, please let me know! I plan on keeping my truck for a VERY long time (way more than 4 yrs) So I'm thinkin' this logic will work out for me

intake

I have an 03 6.0 4x4. I put on an AFE stainless stage 1 and noticed you guessed it! Nothing! It is still a bastard to clean just like the stock design. Save your money. I even swapped back to the stock filter to see if there was a mileage difference. There was nothing. No better mileage stock or with the AFE stage 1. I can't comment on the other intakes, just the stage 1.

The one thing I did do that was well worth it was the Edge juice module. That made a big difference in pedal response, HP, and TQ. It did not affect my mileage. I got 13 before it and 13 after. I am very pleased with the performance.

I just bought those Sulastic Rubber Springs and got them today. Upon looking up their website and phone # today, they are disconnected. The website no longer exists. www.sulastic.com is not up anymore and it was last week when I bought them. I may be sending them back to Norcal. I'll check with Norcal in the morning to see if they know anything about it. I know they need the rubber bushings replaced every now and then, so it will do me no good now if they have gone under. There may be an explanation so I won't be presumptuos just yet.

I have no clue why. I read alot of posts stating do not change your intake etc etc. however me any my father changed his on his 04 and we noticed a slight gain. alot less turbo lag. I think it may have to do with the early turbo. However if it flows more air to the engine I see no point in not changing it out. adding fuel to the engine is one thing you also want to add air to it.

I highly recommend a aftermarket intake elbow the one these trucks have is quite restrictive its cheaper than a full intake.

I like my AFE, but like everyone said...unless you plan good size power, the stocker is a well functioning unit.
