Fuel injectors

Was talking to a local shop that supposedly works on a lot of 6.0's.
Mostly oem work, not much in the way of performance work.
We were talking about replacing fuel injectors and he said that all 8 injectors on a 2005 powerstroke are NOT the same. He said that there was one injector that was the command injector or something like that. He said it was different than the rest of the injectors. Now, i am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination, but that is something that I have never heard of when talking about these engines.

Any thoughts ?

I use a PHP ficm tuner and remember something being said that when programming the
ficm , to remove the main injector relay to prevent damage to the #1 injector .I don't
know that the injectors are any different , but maybe he's rite about the command
logic .
There are gentlemen on here with tons of knowledge that will know for sure .

There is zero difference among the injectors.

Yup. The injectors are controlled by the FICM. Your mechanic is talking out his butt. You might want to consider finding a new one.

He is referring to a 7.3 concerning the AB-AD-AA injector difference I believe
