Turbo Swap Checklist Needed

Hey Powerstrokers!

I was at the pump today and heard this beautiful sound coming from up the street. I turn and an early 6.0 pulls into the station around the back side! This thing sounded exactly like this:

YouTube - 03 turbo whistle of a 6.0 powerstroke

I squeezed the gas pump handle a bit to hard and "blew a load of diesel".

I searched and found that it was most likely an '03, as the video also says the same. I would like to know what kind of work, cost, and materials are needed to do the swap for the '03 turbo. I currently have the mods listed below in my sig, but don't achieve that kind of sound. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks man!

I'm assuming if I closely monitor the junk yards I should be able to find this stuff? I'll keep an eye out on here, but I'm sure there are many others on here that have already jumped to do this swap!

Are there any ECU mods/flashing that I will have to do? Or is this just an all labor job? Thanks in advance

I am wanting to do the same thing, but it seems coming across the '03 turbo is getting harder and harder to do. From what I have read, if you get both the turbo and the pedestal it is pretty easy, just labor.
good luck on the turbo hunt, if you come across 2 let me know

There's a video in the tech files about the swap.

There is nothing quite like that whistle! It does tend to turn some heads! I know this first hand! I love it when all the little boys turn to look and stare at The Granny Truck and what makes it even better is when they see an old lady driving it! Then you just leave them with a cloud of black smoke to remember you by!
