What is this?

I just traded my F150 in on an 06 F250. I found this little box that says mind blower performance on it, it's just spliced into the MAF wondering if anyone knows what it's is and if I should just cut the wires? My guess is it's some kind of cheap resistor.

It just confuses me that someone would use something cheap like this on it after spending the money on head studs, egr delete and HPOP
