Silenced?

Do the stock 03 turbos have a silencer ring in them or is that just a Dodge thing?

They do, but there welded in there. You can't pull them out like the dodges.

On the 03's they are pressed in there and can be removed with a 2 or 3 jaw slide hammer. We have done it on a couple trucks before and I cannot tell any difference whatsoever. On the 04+ turbos they are made into the housing and I have heard you can machine it off but I don't know what it would help...

It does'nt help anything from what I hear. I just makes it wistle louder. But when I straight piped mine it sounds like a jet already so I dont think it would make that much of a difference.
