Looking for a quality custom tune writer

Want some custom tunes that are focused on protecting my 6.0's weak links for an SCT programmer.
Want my tuner to be more focused on safe sensible tuning than creating max horsepower. Want basically to shut my EGR off, tighten up my shifts to protect my trans. and get a fuel mileage tune. DON"T WANT SMOKE! Who would fit that bill?
Thanks
Bill

Any of the big name tuners make safe tunes and will cater to your wants or needs. Some of the most popular and highly recommended are Eric @ Innovative Diesel, Matt @ Gearhead, Vivian @ Quicktricks, Tony @ Total Diesel Performance, Chris @ Truck Source Diesel.

Any of the tuners can do what you're asking, just tell them what you want. Me personally have tunes from vivian @ quicktricks and tony wildman. You also got innovative, gearheads, not sure if tsd is emailing tunes again or not.

Sounds like a tow tune would do you good. Small increase in power (50-70 hp) and it'll firm up the shifts and optimize your shift points.

Talked to gearhead. Recommended a tow tune. he said the fuel mileage benefits would be about the same no matter what tune I had and made it sound like there would be some but nothing tremendous. Makes sense to me cause for the life of me I can't figure out how dumping more fuel into the engine will culminate into better fuel economy. Should I give any others tuners a chat before getting them from gearhead?
Thanks
Bill

i ran the looney tune and it didn't create much smoke at all. and being stuck in California esp bay area is big on not smoking your diesel trucks everywhere... i only had a problem with how the TQ locked and it wouldn't down shift til around 1400 rpms and 40mph but that can be corrected.

eric at innovative, matt at gearhead tony at totadiesel, vivian at quicktricks auto there is a guy 60 stroker on here that i believe is writing tunes now. haven't used them but a few members are on here and seem to be happy. also no one ever mentioned elitediesel.... they have been around for long time and i first read about innovative and elitediesel through dieselpowermag on a huge article about 6.0 power and some basic mods for common HP ranges.

-2004 F350 CCLB 4x4: Sinister Race solutions kit, CAT ELC Edge CS, SCT SF3, PHP Ficm programmer, Procomp, Rough country, and Nitto goodies.
-2004 excursion, banks exhaust, 03 turbo, afe intake
-2006 f350 king ranch, 10 in fabtech, 40in tires, sct tunes,

currently-1999 F250 SBRB 4X4 First 7.3 and feels good to be back in a diesel....

Interested in learning something new?

This is a good question I've never seen anyone talk about tunes from Elite, has anyone ever tried one?

I am also in the market for a tune and have similar wants as far as performance goes as you do Fandini. I sent a message off to Tony at Total Diesel Performance yesterday regarding purchasing an SCT tuner and custom tunes. He hasn't replied to me yet but I will keep you posted on how it turns out.
