SCT X3 or SF3

Ok guys, I have a 2005 F250 King Ranch with a 4" Magnaflow turbo back and I'm ready to tune. What are the differences between the SCT X3 and the SF3 and which one is better if either one could be. Looking at the SCT site, they retail the same. If I don't get my hands on a used one by tomorrow, I'm gonna order a new one. Any suggestions as to who to buy from? Need some info ASAP. Thanks.

i wouldnt order one straight from the SCT site... those are not custom tunes.... you want to order some with custom tunes like Innovative diesel...

The X3 is blank and can accept 3 custom tunes, the SF3 has 3 canned tune and can accept 3 custom tunes.
I agree will Raul, you will get a better deal from one of our vendors if custom tuning is what you are after. However more than likely you will be sold the X3, so if you don't like the custom tunes you have nothing to fall back on.
But you continue to order custom tunes from our vendors.
It's the best money you will spend as far as upgrades go.

they are canned tunes.. only way to get custom tunes is to either buy the xcal 3 from a tuner like innovative... you grab the strategy from your truck with the xcal and email that to them.. then they email you your custom tunes....

i would highly suggest getting custom tunes from one of the various tuners out their... i recommend innovative or DJ's tunes

Hi,

The X3 is part number 3000.
The SF3 is part number 3015.

Until recently they were both the same. They would each download 3 SCT preprogrammed tunes and 3 custom tunes but that has changed.

Now, the X3 is only a custom tuner and the SF3 is only a preprogrammed tuner. This is the way it was with the Xcal2 Custom Tuner (#9400) and Xcal2 Flash Device (#9415).

Thanks,
Vivian
