Jake brake vs. non

Do jake brake/engine braking tunes typically not perform as well as their non jake brake program? Does the addition of jake brake typically net lower fuel mileage? I ask because I really like the jake brake tune but will sacrifice and run with out (at least in the summer) to get better economy. Anyone have some real data on this?

For daily driving, I'd go without the braking. May as well keep the rpm's down and coast as far as you can to save fuel.

I'm sure the difference is neglibable, but every little bit helps.
