Best tuner

I have a 05 f350 s&b cold air and 4 in turbo back. I want a good tuner but it must be shift on the fly have an in cab monitor and easy installation. Don't have time to take the manifold off to put in a probe. Any suggestions?

Why is shift on the fly so important? A custom tune is way better than any off the shelf tune you will find. Also, you don't have to take the exhaust manifold off to put in a egt probe (I think that's what you meant). Get an SCT tuner with custom tunes and an edge monitor for the gauges.

I use my truck for many different purposes I'm not looking for all out performance. I haul 20,000 pounds of corn haul trailers and use as a daily driver. Want the ease of changing power levels without the hassle.

Okey, well custom tuning will allow your trans to last a heck of a lot longer than an edge programmer. Only shift on the fly system I know about for the 6.0. But i don't recommend it. Good luck. It only takes 60-90 seconds to change tunes...FYI

I've been running bully dog gt and it worked fine till it got stolen. It was one touch shift on the fly. Could change power levels just at a stop light.

Bully dog and edge will work but eventually eat your transmission. They done tune the TCM like SCT does. 99% of 6.0 owners will tell you the same thing. I personally wouldn't use either of them if they paid me to! I like my transmission too much!

im only aware of the Banks and edge that tune on the fly, and read an article about edge tuning the trans now or soon. but you'll find that the sct isn't the on the fly demand but it will treat your truck and wallet very well... I just ran the tow+50hp for last 5 months felt way better then stock and still towed

rollin- how the heck you get 60-90 second tune changes... mine takes like 5-10 min and bat/alt everything is good lol...

-2004 F350 CCLB 4x4: Sinister Race solutions kit, CAT ELC Edge CS, SCT SF3, PHP Ficm programmer, Procomp, Rough country, and Nitto goodies.
-2004 excursion, banks exhaust, 03 turbo, afe intake
-2006 f350 king ranch, 10 in fabtech, 40in tires, sct tunes,

currently-1999 F250 SBRB 4X4 First 7.3 and feels good to be back in a diesel....

USAF should try an unlimited tow tune... Guarantee he would never go back to canned/off the shelf programmers again! I pulled 24,600 lbs before and after having the trans custom tuned isn't even comparable to stock. Most wouldn't think it could help that much... But they would be wrong!

Stay away from shift on fly programmers if you want your trans to last.

If you plan on towing close to max weight rating, stick to stock engine tune and just use a trans only tune.

The other issue is, bully dog has been known to leave a footprint in the PCM. Even if you turn the bully dog back to stock setting, it leaves some of the tune settings. This can disrupt or corrupt other tuners if you don't have your PCM reflashed.
