Need Suggestions

So I took my 2007 F-250 6.0 to the shop because my transmission went out. I noticed the smell of coolant burning off so I told him to check that out as well. I was hoping for the best but it ended up being a head gasket. So ya'll could just imagine my excitement! The bad thing is that I've only owned the truck for a month. Most of ya'll might be thinking how horrible this is... not me. I got the truck for a great deal and feel that I have a great opportunity in front of me. Here is where I also come to my first delima. Since everything will be apart I might as well replace things like, injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, head studs, head gaskets, intercooler, tranny... can ya'll offer suggestions on what has worked for you? Please keep in mind that the wife has given me a 15k spending limit. I'm looking at 175cc or 190cc injectors. I already have the sinister egr delete kit, turbo, 5" mrbp exhaust... would love suggestions asap as this project is in the "teardown phase" add of today. Thanks in advance...

First off welcome to the site! My suggestion would be to give the guys at bullet proof diesel a call. Tell them what you got and what you want to do. They have a "kit" already to go. On top of the kit Id also suggest you change out the water pump with one of theirs and they also have a good deal on all aluminum radiator. Then the normal hoses, belts. This is what I have done, and Im super happy. And these guys are great to work with.

Really, what are your goals for the truck and how do you use it? That will make it a lot easier to give you good recommendations.

Not really lookin to pull a sled but would like to have a little fun. I wanna be between 600 and 700 rwhp if possible. I have the SCT Livewire TS and am extremely happy with it. Anyone have a suggestion on tranny and a good deal on injectors?

Ok I suggest you sell the 6.0 and get a 6.4. This will put you miles ahead if your lookin for those kinda #'s.

I don't mean to be rude but simply put, I didn't ask what kind of truck I should buy but rather what parts I should go with while I have this one apart.

Those kinda #'s with a 6.0 is gonna be tough. I don't think your gonna be lookin at a simple bolt together build. Now the 6.4, well, never mind. Good Luck!

I think 205s with a MTW stage 4 would put you where you want to be.

2009 6.4 F350 - Brothers
2007 6.0 F350 - Mine
