Do tuners use inferred EBP

Not sure if I'm asking this correctly, have an 03 with a strategy of VXAP1**
I have assumed this is inferred ebp strategy but don't know. After loading my tune it was very smokey even with a light roll-in throttle. I contacted Vivian and she had concerns that there is a problem with the truck, I know it's very possibly but having a hard time finding anything.
I had her write a new one pulling fuel it is much better but not quite right. I started think while reading on here what if the Tune is not inferred EBP? it seams the same as stock but it's hard to compare number wise. I'll pull and clean the sensor and tube I just don't want to for nothing and risk trashing the tube.

VXAP1 is inferred EBP. You said smoky on take off, did you for cracks/damage to the up-pipe/y-pipe bellows!

How about boost psi, if its lower than normal, check for CAC boots damage.

Boost now I can hit 30psi and really haven't pushed it hard, with that nagging wonder if something is really wrong. With stock tune 26psi was the best I could get. I'll check for leaks tomorrow.

I doubt that you have much of a leak anywhere if you're seeing 30 psi of boost.

That's been my thoughts too, It could be my truck is just a little different with the tune or there really could be something wrong that I cant find. this is why I was thinking about the EBP maybe not being inferred on the custom tune. I've gotta say this thing runs so good right now.

How smokey is smokey?
What tune were you running before?
Are you rolling into the throttle or just mashing it?
Just the smoke clear up after a few seconds?

Could be normal if you are not used to using a hot tune

This might be a good read for you

I need a bigger turbo myths and how to drive a vgt turbo and turbo lag

No tune before started with Vivian's unlimited tune package on the Street tune and tow tune I can roll in slow and it helps. the first version of the looney was crazy I could blackout three lanes of traffic, she set me another one that was an injector tune she called and it's better, I can roll in to this one to help it.
I have read your link and I think all of your posts very good info you are sharing there.

3 lanes of traffic is definitely excessive! I really don't like super smokey tunes myself and am embarrassed whenever I do that... but it does happen. If you are building 30+ psi of boost, lots of power, have very little turbo lag, no weird egts... then it is probably just the tune

Looney was my first tune and I loved it for years... but I have found other tunes that I like for different reasons (not just because they are faster). I usually don't try to promote tuners too much because every tuner has their pluses and minuses ... but Matt at Gearhead prides himself in having tunes that are not super smokey and I can attest to him doing a good job of it.

I understand there will be some smoke but yeah that was embarrassing. I switched back to the tow tune for now I'll watch it for a week and see. Might have to try something else just to see.
