MTW answers back about Hybrid::::
As many of you should know by now that when I stay quite about things and don't post there is a reason.
Here is the answer about the Hybrid and the Barber stage 2 which is a clone of the hybrid. He may do things a little different like offer a 10 blade turbine wheel instead of the 13 blade turbine but the compressor wheel is the exact same wheel, the compressor housing .58 A/R is also the exact same, whether the stock housing is used or the Powermax housing is used.
The MTW answer is that I will not be producing the hybrid anymore, why just because there is some that liked it while other didn't. That just is not good enough for the way I want to run MTW, I will be coming back with the stage 2, which was proven to be a monster of a turbo. I have found suppier to get me the parts I need to have the .72 A/R housing.
Let me remind people about the stage 2, it was a cast wheel .72 A/R housing that made 500 rwhp on a truck with a tune and stock injectors, at a dyno event. It also made 580 rwhp with 190/75 on another truck at a different dyno event, with low fuel pressure. Now here is a little MTW secret, I have built a stage 2 with the new billet wheel in it and tweaks to the turbine housing. The customer has 175/75, he was running the stage 2 with the batmowheel and stock turbine side. After I did a little tweaks and changed out the compressor wheel he has contacted me twice to tell me that the turbo is a monster. It cleaned his 175/75, spool is very quick, hits 38psi of boost easy. He will be taking it to Chris at TSD to do a live tune on it and get a dyno number for it, I will keep everyone updated on what happens.
So that is great for me but what about the customer that have the hybrid, they may like the hybrid or not and be saying what a crock. Well not so, MTW will never let a customer feel they didn't get what they wanted, or have the best product in their trucks. Once I have the supply coming in and in stock I will upgrade their hybrid to the new stage 2 for 150.00. It is costing me money to do it for that price, the housings cost more then double that, but it is a way to show that MTW cares and will take care of it's customers. I will announce when I have everything ready to go on this thread so stay up with it.
The new stage 2 will be offered at 100.00 more then the Hybrid is now at 1300.00. The old stage 2 was around 1800.00 , but I have found a supplier that lets me offer it for the price I have set.
There is a lot more things coming in the very near future that will be blowing people away, and making MTW the premium turbo company. Thank you and stay tuned.
