Barder stage 2 turbo review

Okay so I its about time I posted something up on this. So I dont think many have heard or looked into Barder turbos, I know Odawg and 1fasttrx have posted their results and really liked them. Well Im no different, I love this thing. It has a 64.7 single plane billet wheel build from a new pmax and it is balanced before its shipped. Right now Im only running a old TSD super panty dropper pmax tune and this thing runs real well. I had MTW hybrid and was one of the few people who had no complaints with it, but I wanted to try something new and Odawg and 1fasttrxs' results didnt help lol. The hybrid did have a little better low end response, but thats to be expected with the 13 blade turbine wheel. I know boost psi can vary depending on a variety of things, but my hybrid was a struggle to make 30 psi, let alone more. With my stage 2 I can hit 30psi all day with little stuggle when I want to and have even hit 39psi. I cant wait to get new tunes from Gearhead and see what it will really do. I just wanted to share my experience with something new and give everyone here another option and I'll update this as I get more time with this turbo.

That's awesome!! I'm really shocked at the low boost numbers people were seeing with the Hybrid. I saw 39 psi one time and it wasn't difficult getting there.

As for your Barder turbo, is that an entire assembly you got from them or did you send a turbo to them?

39 psi on stock sticks is pretty impressive.

Still trying to decide what I'm going to do with my hybrid.

Entire assembly from him. I was gonna try and source a used pmax, but he said he would probably have to rebuild it and that would add to cost. Then I was going to get a new one from Performance truck products and sent it to him and once I talked to him about it, for the price of the new turbo (he stocks them) and him modding it and adding the billet wheel it was a no brainer. I pulled the trigger on a friday and on monday he had it shipped out! Great service too.

So the only difference in the hybrid and the Barder is the 10-blade turbine instead of 13-blade? You say the hybrid felt stronger on bottom end response (my hybrid has awesome bottom end, very little lag) but does the Barder feel stronger top end? Or just whistle alot.

Ya just a hair really. Now that my truck has "learned" with this turbo the low end response is even quicker than right after I installed it, really surprised. Top end can say haven't really got a god long pull with it yet. It should flow more up top though with the ten blade turbine, especially if you had injectors with nozzles.
