Performance Chip Question

Hello Everyone,
As some may know, I just recently purchased an 05 PSD King Ranch 250 and it's awesome. It's not my daily driver and I really don't have a lot of ambition to mod the truck at all however the guy I bought it from was told when he purchased it in December that the truck has been chipped.

The truck has quite a bit of power however I've driven a buddy's F350 dually with an Edge performance kit on it and the two trucks aren't even close. Now, this doesn't bother me as I really don't care to mod this thing but my question is, how do I really know whether its been chipped or not?

My gut feeling is that the dealer told the guy its been chipped in order to entice him into buying it as they also said that the 100,000 mile warranty was still in effect (I don't think too many Ford dealers would promise to deliver on a warranty knowing the vehicle has been modified).

There are no indicators of aftermarket sensors or anything like that on the truck, as far as I can tell. Thanks much for any assistance.

I would doubt there is a tune in the truck if it came from a dealer ....but to find out for sure take it to them and have them check it...

Yeah,
That's what I said. Although i should probably disclose that he was the 2nd owner of the truck and it was previously owned by an older couple who used to to haul their short box, slide-in camper. So then delership may have gotten it with a tune already put into it.... who really knows? Once I get it registered, I'm going to take it to the nearest dealer and get the warranty put in my name and see if that generates anything. Thanks much.
