Turbo swap

Ok so i took an 03 turbo and put it on my 04. We did not swap pedestals. so the the question is will the 04 turbo work on the 03 pedastal? we need to get the turbo on so we can trade the truck in.

Depends...is it an early 04 or late? Mine is an early 04 and has all the 03 stuff and only the 03 pedistal will work. The 03/early 04 pedestals are different than the 04+-07 ones.

so if its a late 04 do i have to buy a new pedestal for the 03? we are trying not to spend any cash on this swap. because the 03 is getting traded in. but they want the turbo bolted up and pipes on before the dealer ship will take it. it doesnt run anyways. but they want the turbo on. so is there a way to do that with out spending anything on this? The 03 bolted right up to my 04 with no problem.

If the turbo is from a late build 04 it will not work on an 03 pedestal.

Seeing as the 03 turbo bolted to your 04 truck is obvious that your truck is an early 04 then. So your turbo off the 04 should fit the pedistal on the 03.

ok we tried the night we did the swap. but after riding quads all day then started drinking a few and pulling the turbos off. it was like 2 am when we got the 03 on me. so we just left the other truck apart. we are goin to try to get it back on tonight. But i was hoping to hear it should go right back on. i kinda figured it would with the 03 goin on my truck with out any pedestal's being changed.

Correct. If the 03 turbo bolted to the pedestal on your 04... then the turbo off the 04 will bolt to the pedistal on the 03.

Not necessarily, an 03 turbo will bolt up to any of the 6.0 pedestals. I have one on my 06.
