maching heads

hello guys. need some input here. i am about to install headstuds and it was brought up that a good percentage of the heads taken off are warped. mind you, my gaskets never blew at all. im just changing them for the sake of changing them.
anyway, i am wondering if someone can tell me how much is the limit to be taken off. .010", .006", .008" ??????
also, this will change my compression ratio but is, or will it, be enough to worry about??
anyone with experience doing this on thier truck?
thanks
clarence
