Like I stated in the other thread. Just make sure you have the pedestal and the hardware kit to replace the o-ring and you will be fine. Take your time and enjoy the sound you will get...you will love it.

Also make sure not to damage the oil line going into the turbo and also the up pipe. Mine required some leverage and prying in order for my stock turbo to come out...DO NOT CRACK THE UP PIPE!

Well the last part for my swap (VGT Solenoid) ought to be in today so I may do the swap this weekend. It is going in with all new parts courtesy of eBay. I am interested to find out how the lag is compared to the stock 05 unit. I think I'll tear that one down and clean it up then put it on the shelf for a spare.

Fortunately I have already changed the exhaust to a 4" so I won't have the headache of busting that vclamp to the down pipe loose. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

SVT: On my truck the 03 spools faster and smoother than my 05 could ever dream of doing. I know that Darsey was saying that his lag was alittle bit more with the 03 than the 05. So I guess it is kind of a hit or miss?

the extra 5 impellers were added to reduce lag and whistle. I haven't put an 05 turbo on mine I drove a 2005 and it spooled faster than my 03...that's what I'm going off of.

does anyone know if this would void a warranty or would it be unlikely for ford to catch that the turbo has been swapped

it shouldn't void the warranty. the turbos are virtually identical from the outside anyway. I mean it did come stock on some ford trucks anyway. I can't see how they could void the warranty. I have been wrong before though
