Ford replacement/EBay

From what I can tell, turbo is $300-$500, and then you need the pedestal $150-$200, and the install kit $8

Install went great, took our time and learned alot about the different components on the motor. Only snag was the AFe intake, the box is just so big that we had no other choice but to take her out along with the coolant bottle, just made things easier to work around.

I am very pleased with the end result. Once the truck warms up the turbo whistles pretty good at a stand still but once you touch the pedal sounds like a jet plane. I am so glad I went the 03 route.

Here are a few pictures I took during the install, nothing fancy, just some to show ya what we were working with.

Where did you find an 03 turbo?? Is there any where that sells them or you just have to find one?

You can buy them from ford for $1200. I got mine from a guy on the org.

Also the 03 has less lag than the 05+ turbos and smoother spool.

my turbo has considerably more lag than 06-07 trucks. so to answer your question, I would say yes. I believe it is because the exhaust side is 3mm larger and has 10 impellers vs the 05-07 turbos.

Any advice to a guy who never replaced a turbo to install an 2003 turbo. I just bought one and will be installing it next week probably. Any advice would be helpful. I think it should be a basic swap; but I may be wrong. Thanks
