As soon as they start it up to pull it in the bay, they will know something has been changed on that turbo lol. But your right...technically yes it could void your warranty but so could straight piping the exhaust. It is all about what kind of dealership and more importantly what kind of tech you have.

Well I did my 03 turbo swap over the weekend. Having never done it before I just took my time and everything went without a problem. At least no more problem than my old fat a$$ lying on top of the motor trying to get both hands back around the turbo. It get's tight back there and I'm not as flexible as I used to be. Anyway everything went smooth, that is till I dropped my 10mm wrench down behind the turbo after tightening the back oil feed bolt. It'll have to stay there till I pull things apart again to do the EGR/Cooler delete. Anyway, now I have that nice 03 turbo whistle and a big smile.

Haha that sucks about the wrench, been there and done it though. Congrats on the swap, it will only get louder with time...atleast that is how mine was.

Yeah that pissed me off a little bit. I use that wrench a lot. I'll have to go buy another one now cuz my only other 10mm is open end only.

eBay. Ford reman in the box, new pedestal, new VGT solenoid. I have about $650 in the setup with all new parts till I sell my 05 an recoup some of it. You just have to be diligent in looking. They're frequently out there.
