cat delete questions

I have a few questions about deleting my cat. converter. I have a stock exhaust and would like to change it up a bit. I don't really want to put in an entire new exhaust, I just want to make the most of the current one. I saw this delete pipe on ebay yesterday 3 5" Cat Delete Pipe Ford Powerstroke Diesel 6 0L 03 07 | eBay and that really got me thinking about doing a cat delete after seeing that it could possibly cause increase of 10-16 horsepower but is that really true? Also would this help to lower EGT's faster? Finally, would this affect the sound of the exhaust at all with the extra air flow? I am not really worried about the emissions because they aren't strict about them in North Dakota.

you should see lower egt's due to better flow, I recently gutted my cat, and no real sound change, nor any noticeable power difference. 16hp will not be noticeable on this heavy of a truck.

I deleted my cat and got some more whistle but I have the 03 style turbo. My egt's dropped about 100 deg from what I had seen previously. But my cat was also almost completely plugged so that could of been the reason of the drop. I like the sound of it though. I'm still thinking whether I want to pull the muffler or not

Pulling the cat will change the sound of the exhaust, lower egt's, and that's about it. Don't expect any performance gain from it.

I have a full exhaust now from turbo back. Before I did this I deleted my muffler and cat and it sounds GREAT! I love the rumble and growl accelerating.
