Finally fix my egt probe issue

Ok guys so I went to put in my edge easy egt probe I drilled and tapped the hole like the instructions say. When I did that I put the probe in and it hit the other end of the manifold so after driving around all day and speaking to some forum members last night came up with this a 1/4-14 npt male to 1/8-27 npt female fitting to make it work I took the same 1/8 hope I drilled and drilled it to a 7/16 hole then tapped it again with a 1/4 not tap. Here are some pics thanks alot for the help guys
1/8 hole

Egt probe hitting other side of manifold

Edge fitting into 1/4-1/8 adapter

1/4 tapped hole

Both fitting test

Clearance on egt probe had to make sure the fitting wouldn't cover the probe

Installed and finished

Great info, awesome documentation, and beautiful truck! I'm getting ready to install my EGT sensor in the next week or so. Is the problem you encountered a common one? How much do I need to worry about my sensor hitting the back of the exhaust manifold? Any/all help is appreciated. Thanks again!

Why so close to cylinder 2 (?) on the manifold? Shouldn't it be at the other end to get the collective temp from all the cylinders? And it looks like you have some fluid leaking down your block. Lol.

That certainly looks cleaner than plugging the hole and boring another one.
