Going to attempt at installing a 6.4 intake manifold

I've seen others cutting up their stock 6.0 manifolds and hogging them out. Lots of welding, labor, more labor if you cut out the EGR section, chance of warping/leaking. Also I'm sure chances are slim with lock tite but I'd be nervous with the manifold bolted down from the inside..if a bolt comes loose it will be ingested by the engine.

With that said I'm going to take on the challenge (alternator mounting, possible sensor bung relocation and tab cut offs) of installing a 6.4 manifold and document it. I plan to do some changes to the manifold to get it to flow close to a ported one and address the lack of rear cylinder air flow that plagues both 6.4 and 6.0 manifolds.

Just ordered the manifold and will take pics as I progress. Thanks

Don't forget about the intake elbow, IC piping, and serpentine belt.

Also the dent in that intake needs to be removed.

It's going to look so much cleaner without the EGR section the 6.0 has

I have done this mod as well as Nate. We both made brackets for the 6.4 intake for alternator, but you could use a alternator bracket for a dual system. Both Nate and I also machined the post on the inner section of runner to free up flow, and both of us used two bolt system. You will also have to do something with the coolant passage which I taped and installed pipe plug, but you could install a freeze plug there. I went and tee into my heater line to route the coolant from the EGR delete. Tuscany was running Nate's manifold and I'm running the one I made, both of us noticed a 150-200 degree differance in EGTS at cruise. I think that it works better then the 6.0 ported intake, since I tried both, but that was on my truck could be different on another truck. Here's some pictures of manifold before I installed it, have fun with your mod.

I welded the intake eblow on the intake also, and will have to cut and weld the cac pipe from intercooler to intake elbow.
