Edge evolution or SCT?

Alright, so with summer getting close so is decision making time. Do I get an edge evolution, or an SCT. I've heard a lot of good things about both and wanted to get your guys opinions. The only bad thing I've heard about the Evolution is that it messes up transmission, but I have a manual so I don't know if thats a concern. The built in gauges and green back lighting are also a plus. However, once I found this website, all I read was SCT, SCT, and SCT. So i just wanted to get everyones opinions on both products. Thanks

Well it's easy to see where this one is going to go but I'll give you my best opinion anyway. The Edge products are good for a 7.3 but there are better options available for the 6.0. Seeing how you have a 6 speed manual, you could go with PPE or any number of tuners but if you ever experience good custom tuning on a SCT you will never look back. I've seen guys running the Edge products at the track and even with a shot of nitrous they are only a tenth faster than an SCT tuned truck of heavier weight. Just for the record nitrous seems to be good for a .5 to .8 second gain on these trucks.

Ya, the SCT definitely sounds like a serious toy. Where can I get some more info on it? You know, I also wonder why they don't make the back light green to match our interiors lol I'm just real picky about things like that.

If you go with the SCT X3 tuner it plugs in long enough to load the tune and that's it so backlighting is not an issue. Maybe you are looking at the Livewire which also acts as gauges. Most people won't recommend the Livewire as the tuning is the same but the gauge portion leaves a good bit to be desired yet.

Go to SCT Automotive Performance Products to learn more about there products. There is even a discussion forum on their site. If you really want the skinny on custom tuning check out Innovative Diesel for the best SCT custom tuning available.

Thanks for all the help thus far. I have a couple more questions though lol. First off, where do you get the custom tunes and secondly does anybody have any numbers for HP and torque gains? Thanks again!

Billet Speed - Innovative Diesel Re-director is the place for tuning. DJ's diesel and a few others out there can do it as well but in my opinion Innovative is about as good as it gets. With the hottest tunes from Innovative you will see as much as a 160 rear wheel hp gain. Beware tuners that claim 200+ hp gains as they are rated at the flywheel. SCT tuned trucks usually produce 410 to 440 rwhp vs the 270 or so that they make stock. Typical trucks usually see atround 420 rwhp.

mine totally screams!!!!!!!!!!!! the people at Innovative ARE THE BEST AROUND. i thought i had something with my edge. all i had was tore up trannies. i got something now! SCT SCT SCT SCT wooooo hooooooooo!

Is anyone running Spartian Diesel tunes and how are they compared to Innovatives, i am running the Hybrid race tune and the best i could get was a 14.5, my friend has a 2004 extended cab long bed f250 with the same tune and exhaust and he went 13.5, is there maybe something wrong with my tune or truck?
