egt temps??

Hey guys I just got an srl tune from Matt and I installed my egt sensor on my edge insight. I was driving up the road and decided to give it some so I put it to the floor. After a couple seconds my edge started beeping and I looked down and my egts were at 1500. That seems high to me. And in my opinion my srl tune is alittle smokey. My buddy has extreme street from innovative and I think his smokes less. Thanks for the help

THAT IS WAY TO HIGH!!!! Have him tweak the tune. Even with an atlas 80 and ecm tune combo the highest i normally ever see is 1250 and thats when hammering on it

uh with a factory charger it is not really hard to believe for a hot tune. if you only see 1250 max your running a mild tune or you aren't pushing enough fuel.

If you were running wide open throttle, then 1400-1500* EGT's are common regardless of what company wrote the tune. If it's a little too smokey for your liking, contact Matt and ask him to pull a little fuel up top. Should bring your EGT's down also.

In all actuality you want to see 1350* at WOT to get a complete fuel burn. I've had several conversations with Eric at Innovative Diesel about this. I see around 1500* (not utilizing my water/meth) on my modified Super Panty Dropper from TSD and my Extreme X from IDP.

What is normal cruising EGT's with the srl?

It has been 100+ degrees so keep that in mind.

I've been driving with my tow tune and atlas 40. Cruising on the highway at 75 I'm seeing anywhere fro 740-850ish. Is this normal? It seems in the early morning when its 70ish outside I'm about 100 degree cooler EGT at the same speed.

I ran around with my SRL and atlas 40 for a day and I could hit 1400 degrees by 65mph from a dead stop. Didn't really look at cruising temps. Seems like just "normal" accelerating getting on the highway I would see 1100+

Normal boost numbers are up to 25-26. I have seen up to 28-29lbs.

Outside temps won't have a significant effect on EGT's. Just my opinion, but 850* is a bit high at 75 mph. Not much though. I'm usually around 700* at the same speed (stock injectors, stock turbo) but I wouldn't panic over what you're seeing. Like I said, give Matt a call and let him know what what you're seeing and he can probably adjust your tune to where you want it.
