Turbo timer?

Hey my buddy bought a garrett turbo timer for his truck and now hes selling the truck before he put it on so his selling it to me for $60. Is it worth putting it in? Can someone the positives and negitives of this? I dont know very much about them. Thankyou

It allows the truck to run until a certain amount of time have gone by after turning the key off/ or until the egt temps drop below a preset level. $60 is a great deal. I'll buy it if you don't want it!

Haha yea thanks i know that the truck will continue to run after i turn the key off for about a minute to allow the temps to cool down, but thats all it does correct?

Not sure if you know, but if the truck is shut off while EGTs are above 400*f (some say 350*f) the oil ends up sitting around the turbo bearing while the oil is cooked cause the turbo to prematurely wear out.

Did you try search for the manual? If you don't have one, that's we're I'd start... I'm sure each turbo timer is a little different(at least as far as the color of the wires) so if its already off the truck you will have to find the manual.
